Hello, my name is Josh Hill. I’m a designer, animator, producer, and musician.
My passion for the creative arts drives me to constantly learn and improve my skills. With a decade of experience, six of those years spent working for NBCUniversal on their prestigious late-night shows (SNL, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers) I am well-versed in the fast-paced and demanding landscape of the entertainment industry. In my previous role as a Senior Motion Designer, I oversaw digital branding, template design, video editing, and motion graphics, while leading a team of designers and interns to produce top-quality content for fans and social media platforms.
In addition to my work at NBC, I have also taken on freelance branding and motion projects for small entrepreneurs and major corporations such as Target and Hilton. As a former recording artist and musician, I understand the importance of sound in enhancing visual storytelling, and I am meticulous in my attention to detail, such as how adding the perfect amount of easing to a logo reveal can make all the difference.
Beyond my passion for visual design, I am a musician who loves to perform and write original music. Prior to my studies at DAAP, I formed and played in the bands Ellison and The Grey Academy. I believe that visual design and music go hand in hand, and my approach to motion design seamlessly blends the two to create impactful stories that foster human connections.
